Beauty services

Help others look and feel beautiful with a career in beauty services. Develop specialist skills in beauty therapy, make up, and nail technology, in addition to essential salon business skills.

Study beauty services

The beauty industry incorporates a range of services including makeup artistry, skin care, nail technology, body piercing, and lash and brow treatments. As a beautician you may provide services in a nail salon, day spa, or health club, or you may manage your own salon. At TAFE Queensland we deliver our beauty courses in fully operational beauty salons where you’ll use state-of-the-art equipment and high quality, professional beauty products to provide a range of services to paying clients.

With Australians spending $22 billion a year on beauty products and services, the beauty industry is a growing employment sector with ample career opportunities for you to pursue. The industry is set for continued growth in the future with men fast becoming a key market segment, and an increasing popularity of procedures such as microdermabrasion, laser therapy, and injectables.

TAFE Queensland offers a range of courses in beauty services and beauty therapy including specialisations in makeup and nail technology. You'll receive hands-on training and learn essential salon business skills including communicating with clients, demonstrating products, as well as retailing and merchandising.
