About heavy automotive industries training
TAFE Queensland offers a comprehensive range of heavy automotive courses and apprenticeships for both career starters and existing workers looking to upskill. Choose from a range of specialisations including diesel fitting, mobile plant technology, trailer technology, mechanical overhauling, cylinder head reconditioning, drivetrain technology, recreational vehicles, forklift technology, elevating work platforms, automotive manufacturing, and agricultural mechanical technology. Learn how to diagnose, maintain and repair a range of heavy commercial vehicles including trucks, buses, trailers, forklifts, scissor lifts, recreational vehicles, agricultural vehicles, and mining and construction equipment.
We work closely with key industry partners to ensure our heavy automotive students are working on the latest industry equipment and vehicles, with donations from Iveco, Mack, Kenworth, Komatsu and more. Our $90 million automotive facilities include engine and chassis dynos, state-of-the-art wheel alignment and brake testing stations, and specialised training rooms for diesel fuel, auto electrical, and air-conditioning.
