Once you have contacted us and checked your eligibility for the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) we will arrange a time for you to complete a face-to-face English language assessment and entry interview with your local TAFE. The interview will be informal and relaxed.

During the interview your TAFE advisor will:

  • assess your level of English;
  • talk to you about your learning goals and needs;
  • ask if you have any children, and if you need childcare while you study; and
  • discuss the number of hours you will study each week and enrol you in the most suitable stream to help you improve your English.

Where will the interview be held?

The interview will take place at your nearest TAFE Queensland AMEP location. If you live in a remote area, a phone interview can be arranged.

What if I cannot speak English?

Do not worry - we will arrange a free telephone interpreter to help you at the interview.

What do I bring to the interview?

Please bring your passport and travel documents.
