Skills for Education and Employment (SEE)

An eligible SEE student may:

  • participate in up to 800 hours of free training
  • study full-time (20-25 hours per week) or part-time (10-19 hours per week) while you look for work
  • be entitled to extra payment. Ask Centrelink about the Language, Literacy and Numeracy Supplement.

Through SEE, students can:

  • develop job search skills to find and apply for jobs;
  • develop study skills for further education or training;
  • improve their computer and technology skills;
  • gain industry-focused training that is specific to your region's employment needs; and
  • improve skills in reading, writing, spelling, listening, speaking and maths.

SEE students may also qualify to undertake work experience through the Work Observation Work Experience (WOWE) initiatives.

Students will:

  • learn at their own pace alongside like-minded students in relaxed classes
  • benefit from experienced teachers who specialise in adult learning
  • gain practical skills in classes that are tailored to their abilities, goals and interests
  • use computers and other technology like iPads.

SEE is an approved Work for the Dole activity.
