Senior Studies

The Queensland Certificate of Education (sometimes referred to Senior Studies) allows continuing secondary school students to complete flexible Year 11 and 12 studies at TAFE. This can range from academic study to a combination of TAFE vocational courses and general studies. The course is for students who may learn better in a non-school setting.

Access 10

The Certificate II in Access 10 offers face-to-face classroom delivery, providing you with the opportunity to work with others in a supportive atmosphere to achieve a Year 10 alternative. This course would suit you if you have not completed Year 10 and you want to learn in an encouraging and relaxed adult education setting. The aim of this course is to develop your literacy, numeracy, introductory science, computing, vocational and sociology skills to a recognised level. Students completing the Certificate II in Access 10 are eligible to apply for programs that require a year 10 level of achievement.

Adult learners

Adult tertiary preparation

The Adult Tertiary Preparation (ATP) program helps improve your chances of gaining entrance to university. This is done by developing your research, writing and general study skills and gaining the equivalent of a Queensland Certificate of Education. The program is designed for adults who have been away from formal education for some time and would like to undertake university study. It's completely independent of the school system but we do like you to have completed Year 10 or equivalent and be at least 18 years old, or turn 18 during the first semester, before you start.
