TAFE at School Programs
If you're a year 10, 11, or 12 student, you may be able to complete an Academy of Sport TAFE at School Program. TAFE Queensland facilitates the program with peak sporting bodies and clubs across Queensland.
The program for year 10, 11, or 12 school students focuses on practical learning in a sporting context. Students can expect to learn in an active and engaging environment. Student athletes will undertake the Certificate II in Sport Coaching (SIS20321) with a special focus on their chosen sport.
Students will also undertake sports-specific strength and conditioning, training and immersive athlete development workshops as part of the program. Sessions are broken into a combination of theory and hands-on delivery to advance the learning experience. Students can expect to undertake most of their learning at the facilities of one of our partner organisations.
Our TAFE at School program fits in with your existing high school studies and will often replace one of the student's senior schooling subjects. Gaining a Certificate II in Sport Coaching will contribute to your Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
