Course overview

Learn how to stay safe and productive in a rural environment by improving your quad bike knowledge with this basic short course. Every year quad bikes are a major cause of death and/or serious injury in rural workplaces, with many incidents associated with incorrect or unsafe handling and operation.

During this short course you will learn how to perform routine pre-operational checks and maintenance, match, attach and operate additional equipment as per manufacturer and operator manuals, recognise and control hazards and risks, safely operate in a range of weather and terrain conditions, and monitor and maintain vehicle records. You will also learn how to safely load and unload quad bikes onto trailers and other vehicles used for their transport.

Upon successful completion of this safety focused course you will be prepared to work with quad bikes in rural environments under general supervision. You may also continue with further study in the agriculture and rural operations industry.
