Course overview

This course is an extension for those who have completed the Floristry 1 - Introductory short course or those who understand the basic fundamentals of floral design, flowers and plant materials.

In this course you will explore different ways to arrange flowers, including traditional and contemporary designs using a variety of fresh seasonal flowers and foliage. You will learn how the principles and elements of design apply and gain skills spiralling and arranging flowers with a modern twist.

For those with a real passion for Floristry, participants will be advised on pathways to formal qualifications.

Upon completion of each session in this practical course each participant will have their own floral designs to take home with all flowers and materials required to complete each design supplied.

Topics included:

  • Hair circlet - fully wired
  • Hand tied posy
  • Modern hand tied bouquet - and how this can be adapted to a corporate design
  • Table arrangement

This short course is non-accredited therefore is not registered with the National Training Register.

Selection criteria

You must have completed Floristry 1 - Introduction or have industry experience.

Resources required

  • You will be loaned tools by the teacher each week. Flowers and decorative items are included in your enrolment fee and are non-refundable.
  • Please bring a pen and a notebook.
  • You need to present your Confirmation of Enrolment to the car park attendant each week to be eligible for discounted parking.
