Course overview

The IYT Master of Yachts Limited course has become the most globally accepted course for the operation of commercial yachts up to 200 tons. Recognition by 25 Governments has placed IYT MOY 200 ton accreditation at the top as the global standard of certification.  The International Marine College is a partner school, offering the crossover from the Australian Certificates of Competency. This qualification enables holders to serve on board luxury yachts in International waters.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Selection criteria

You must:

  • hold a current Master Class 5 or Master <24m (note1);
  • hold a current AMSA Certificate of Safety Training;
  • have completed 30 night hours on watch underway.​
Resources required

No specific resources are required to successfully complete this course.

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.
