Selection criteria
The course is open to students who have completed the seven Electrical Knowledge units of competency (or equivalent) as prescribed in the Clean Energy Councils accreditation pathways document.
These units can be undertaken by enrolling in the course in Foundation Electrical Units Pre Requisites - Renewable Energy Clean Energy Council Accreditation offered by TAFE Queensland SkillsTech.
Students with a strong electrical knowledge background including electricians and engineers (particularly electrical and electronics) may be granted exemption from these units.
Unit UEERE0022 - Solve basic problems in photovoltaic energy apparatus and systems is required for Grid Connect Accreditation which is to be undertaken prior to, and separately from the dedicated Stand-Alone Power Systems units.

Required Textbook – it is essential that you bring these to the first day of class:

- Required Standards – AS4509 (Once you have signed on click on: Australian Standards Online)
Please note: you cannot save these files for more than a couple of days as they disappear, so you would need to print them out.

Students failing to meet these minimum standards of dress will not be permitted entry in to practical classes.
