Develop your front office and reception knowledge and get the essential skills required to work in a hotel or resort. This accredited skill set is perfect for newcomers to the hospitality industry or for existing workers looking to diversify their skills.
The focus of this short course is on teaching you how to use industry-standard computerised accommodation booking systems. Depending on your study location you may have the opportunity to experience both the OPERA Fidelio and/or HIRUM systems. Discover how to use these systems to create, modify and cancel accommodation bookings, receive and process reservations, and manage group reservations. You'll also develop essential hospitality skills including professional personal presentation, meeting guest expectations, and dealing with difficult guests.

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.
For all students who are undertaking courses that include Vocational Placements in a high risk workplace, Queensland Health has directed that students must declare your COVID-19 Vaccination status and evidence to either TAFE Queensland or the placement provider.

This requirement is in place for all students in affected courses, including TAFE at School students.
Those students who have a medical contraindication may be unable to complete the vocational placement component of their course. This means you may not be able to meet all of the requirements of your course and may not be able to graduate or receive your qualification.
