Entry requirements
The skillset Performance Evidence requires that:
Students must be physically able to complete a range of specific practical assessment tasks during scheduled clinical simulation to address assessment requirements:
- performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor
- performing at least 2 minutes of ventilation and at least 2 minutes of compression during a two-rescuer procedure on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor
- performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles both compressions and ventilations) on an infant resuscitation manikin placed on a firm surface
Selection criteria
You must confirm physical capability to complete the assessment components listed in the entry requirements.

- A valid and appropriate email address
You will also require access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online systems, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader.. This equipment and software is available for students to use at a number of TAFE Queensland locations.
Need to know
You will be provided with pre-reading and are required to attend 2 consecutive days of face-to-face training (approximately 6 hours per day).
