Course overview
On completion of this course students will have a basic level of knowledge of the language, culture and geography of Italy. The student will be able to understand and use simple Italian sentences, introduce themselves, give personal information, basic socialising, make simple enquiries about restaurants and hotel reservations, departures/arrivals, time, numbers, street directions, car hire etc.
Topics include: social greetings, introductions, restaurant, shopping and price enquiries, talking about family and age, counting, days, months, seasons, arrivals and departures, telling and asking time, street directions, enquiries for bus stops, general enquiries, bookings, hotel reservations, renting a house, hiring a car, asking for petrol, public transport and basic grammar.
Students will participate in role play, activities and basic conversation. Some short educational videos about Italy may be used. The teacher is a native Italian tutor.
This short course is non-accredited therefore is not registered with the National Training Register
