Course overview

This skill set is the most contemporary nationally recognised fatigue management training available for those operating heavy vehicles under the National Heavy Vehicle Law. The course involves learning the necessary knowledge and skills required for heavy vehicle drivers (Truck and Bus) to oversee their fatigue and work safely within the Transport and Logistics industry. The competency applies to heavy vehicle drivers and transport operators seeking basic fatigue management (BFM) or advanced fatigue management (AFM) accreditation under National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS).

The course includes applying fatigue risk management strategies, identifying and acting on signs of fatigue, operating with a fatigue risk management system, planning and navigating trips, updating and maintaining records, complying with work and rest limits, and implementing appropriate strategies to minimise fatigue during work activities.

The course is conducted face to face over a 4 hour period either at your workplace or on campus.
