Course overview

This JLPT N5 Preparation Course starts students at the very beginning of the language.
The JLPT has five levels, the easiest level is N5 and the most difficult level is N1.

The aim of this systematic training program for non-native Japanese speakers is to help you achieve comprehensive skills in listening, reading and writing in Japanese so as to facilitate your study, work or business in relation with Japan.
This course is suitable for students that can already read and write Hiragana, Katakana and are confident with around 100 Kanji characters.

JLPT is only the world recognised Japanese Language Proficiency Test. If you have JLPT certification this may provide you various advantages, ranging from recognition as academic credit and graduation certification at schools to preferential treatment at companies and acknowledgement of your qualification in society. Refer here for more information: https://www.jlpt.jp/e/about/merit.html

Topics in this preparation course include:

  • Language Knowledge (Vocabulary)
  • Language Knowledge (Grammar)
  • Reading
  • Listening

The JLPT places importance not only on knowledge of Japanese-language vocabulary and grammar but also on the ability to use the knowledge in actual communication.

In order to perform various "everyday tasks" that require language, not only language knowledge but also the ability to actually use it are necessary. Therefore, the JLPT measures comprehensive Japanese-language communicative competence through three elements: "Language Knowledge", "Reading" and "Listening”.

The facilitator is a native Japanese person.

Once you complete this preparation course, you can apply for the JLPT N5.
