Course overview

This short course introduces basic sustainable living concepts in a clear, easy to understand and interactive way.

It explores ideas at a grass roots level and provides practical strategies to help households adapt to a sustainable future.

The course structure is organised as a bundle of four (4) short courses, each covering various sustainability related topics.

You may choose to enrol in the bundle of four (4) components or enrol in the individual components from the following list:

Component 1: Introduction to Sustainability Concepts
Component 2: How Sustainable is Your House?
Component 3: Sustainable Family Habits
Component 4: Sustainability in the Garden

Delivery of this course is face to face on campus and will include facilitator presentations, interactive examples and practical group activities.

There will be an excursion to a local community garden in lesson 6 and you will need to find your own transport to and from the venue. This will be discussed with you in the first lesson.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Resources required

You are required to bring along a laptop computer capable of connecting to the internet to undertake online interactive activities and a USB for saving files.

You are to wear comfortable suitable clothing, closed in shoes, sunscreen and a hat for the garden component of this course (lesson 6).
