Course overview

This course is the first in a bundle of four (4) Introduction to Sustainable Living: Bundle.

It will provide you with an introduction to key sustainability terms and concepts and explores answers to the following big picture questions:

  • What is sustainability and why is it important for the future life on earth?
  • What is meant by the term climate change?
  • What is the international community doing about tackling climate change?
  • Should we be concerned about global warming?
  • What is an ecological footprint and who has one?

Learning takes place face to face on campus and will include a presentation, interactive examples and practical group activities.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Resources required

You are required to bring along a laptop computer capable of connecting to the internet to undertake online interactive activities and a USB for saving files.

Need to know

There will be an excursion to a local community garden in lesson 6 and you will need to find your own transport to and from the venue. This will be discussed with you in the first lesson.

Please note: The Seedpod Cafe on site at our Robina Campus is not open for business on the weekend or in the evenings so you are advised to bring your own refreshments.
