Course overview

This course is the first in a bundle of four (4) Introduction to Sustainable Living: Bundle.

It will provide you with an introduction to key sustainability terms and concepts and explores answers to the following big picture questions:

What is sustainability and why is it important for the future life on earth?
What is meant by the term climate change?
What is the international community doing about tackling climate change?
Should we be concerned about global warming?
What is an ecological footprint and who has one?

Learning takes place face to face on campus and will include a presentation, interactive examples and practical group activities.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Resources required

You are required to bring along a laptop computer capable of connecting to the internet to undertake online interactive activities and a USB for saving files.

Need to know

There will be an excursion to a local community garden in lesson 6 and you will need to find your own transport to and from the venue. This will be discussed with you in the first lesson.
