Course overview

In this bar service skills course, you will:

  • be able to safely and efficiently set up, operate and close down a bar
  • be able prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages using standard measures and ingredients that meet customer requests
  • be able to interact with customers over the bar and give general advice on beer, wine, cocktails and spirits, and make recommendations to customers based on their preferences and take payment.

Need to know

As you will be working in food service areas, you will need to wear:

  • closed in non-slip shoes, no heels; and
  • your hair tied back.
