Course overview

During this three (3) hour beginner workshop you will make:

  • a basic small basket from Ponytail (Beaucarnea recurvata) discarded leaves; and
  • a tray from discarded branches and play with different weaving concepts.

This is a great workshop to not only come back to roots of our ancestors and appreciate the few traditional tribes still making baskets from the bounty of the land they walk. But also to learn new skills and repurpose what would normally be put into landfill or burnt off as a "general suburban yard waste product"

The timeless skill of weaving empowers people to look at things differently. Vines, discarded fronds, grasses, so many things naturally obtain can be used to weave and make something unique, sustainable, and beautiful.

Join us solo for an evening with like-minded people or bring along your bestie, this class will definitely not disappoint.
