This skill set was developed by industry to provide for the mobility of electrical supply industry workers, particularly with respect to mutual aid in times of emergency.
Training includes undertaking a risk assessment and implementing control measures, accessing and isolating a low voltage panel, removing a victim in contact with electrically-live equipment and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, if necessary.
Completion of this course will keep your skills current and make you more mobile across the electrical supply industry.

The Electrical Safety Regulation 2013 now requires anyone acting as a safety observer for live electrical work to be competent to assist the person performing the work. You must have been assessed within the last 12 months to be competent in both rescue and resuscitation (the CPR component).
Skill and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your course. You may be assessed in a number of ways while you are studying at TAFE Queensland, including observation, written assessment, questioning, portfolios, work samples, third-party feedback, and through recognition of prior learning.
