Take the next step in you career as a vocational trainer and assessor. Develop a broad range of specialist skills to effectively implement language, literacy and numeracy training for adult learners.

TAFE Queensland is the largest and most experienced provider of vocational education and training in the state. You'll learn from expert educators who have a high degree of technical skills and knowledge.

This course blends theoretical understanding with practical strategies. You will learn to apply advanced knowledge to make high level judgements, and develop and deliver plans for improvement. Learn how to develop, analyse, and evaluate practices in line with learning frameworks, legislation and standards. We will also teach you how to analyse, plan, deliver and evaluate language, literacy and numeracy within a range of contexts.

Successful completion of this course will qualify you to work as a specialist language literacy and numeracy practitioner in the vocational training sector, although some providers may also require additional qualifications.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Selection criteria

This program is available to all students with the capacity to undertake study at a graduate level.

It is recommended that candidates undertake TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment prior to undertaking TAE80113 Graduate Diploma in Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice, as this will provide them with knowledge of the vocational education and training (VET) environment, including quality frameworks and qualification frameworks, as well as delivery and assessment requirements. Learners should have the following skills on entry to the course: academic text reading, research and analysis, article and report writing and referencing to ACSF level 5, word processing and basic multimedia (ability to record and edit both video and audio).
