Course overview

Combine your love of sports, recreation, and events with this advanced-level double qualification. Get qualified to manage sporting events, or work as a venue coordinator or program officer.

This course combines classroom-based learning with practical sports and recreation industry components. You will learn the fundamentals of managing a sporting, fitness or leisure facility, as well as planning sporting activities and events. This course will also give you the specialised skills and knowledge to lead and manage people, coordinate marketing activities, manage budgets, prepare quotes, and select venues and sites. Our passionate, industry-experienced teachers will give you all the support you need to succeed.

Successful completion of this course will qualify you to work in both the sports and events industries. It will also give you the foundation knowledge needed to complete further studies in your field.

Selection criteria

Successful completion of Year 12 with passes in Maths and English is highly recommended. Competence in word processing and basic computer knowledge is highly desirable. If you’re under 17 years of age, special enrolment conditions may apply.
