Entry requirements

To enter this qualification, individuals must have the technical and organisational skills to conceptualise and create works in their chosen form.

Those skills and knowledge may have been acquired through experience in creative practice or through formal study.

Selection criteria

You must demonstrate the technical and organisational skills to conceptualise and create works in selected medium. This will be assessed through presentation of a portfolio of work and attending an interview.

Resources required

It is recommended that you have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system Connect, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

You will also be required to have access to and bring to class some art materials and supplies to the value of approximately $250. Details will be provided after enrolment or during orientation.

There is an opportunity to receive a great insight into our program and studio facilities by arranging a tour directly with our Centre for Creative and Digital. During the tour you will be able to meet the teaching team and ask any questions you may have about the program. It is also an excellent opportunity to meet our current Diploma students and see some of their very creative work in progress. Skill and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your course. You may be assessed in a number of ways while you are studying at TAFE Queensland, including observation, written assessment, questioning, portfolios, work samples, third-party feedback, and through recognition of prior learning.
