In this qualification, you will learn high-level information and communications technology (ICT) process improvement, business skills and knowledge to be effective in senior ICT roles. This course builds on core management competencies, with specialist and general elective choices to suit particular ICT and business needs, especially in the areas of knowledge management and systems development.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Selection criteria

This qualification has no formal entry criteria however TAFE Queensland has the following selection criteria:

Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:

  • after achieving any ICT Diploma qualification or other relevant Diploma

OR

  • with demonstrated vocational experience in a range of work environments in senior information technology or systems roles, including analyst or designer.

If you’re under 17 years of age, special enrolment conditions may apply.

Resources required

It is recommended that you have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system Connect, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

You will be provided with a recommended reading list and/or required textbooks during orientation or at the start of each unit. The purchase of these resources may incur additional costs, or you may be able to borrow them from the TAFE Queensland library network.

Recommended that students purchase a 32GB flash drive for electronic saving of their work.

Assessment Methods

Skill and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your course. You may be assessed in a number of ways while you are studying at TAFE Queensland, including observation, written assessment, questioning, portfolios, work samples, third-party feedback, and through recognition of prior learning.
