Pi not Pie.
Statement of Participation
This course is the first in a series of hands on practical workshops to develop valuable skills relating to the Internet of Things (IoT). Tinker Labs introduce new tools and skills that are used by those in; STEM, Makers, DIY’s, Engineers, Designers, Startups, Inventors, and Creators in General.
This Lab will introduce the Raspberry Pi, which is the most famous and useful tool for you, the Maker. The Pi can be turned into a fully functioning computer, smart tv, home automation system, drone, industrial automation & control system, Ai development kit, interactive art, robot, and so much more. In this Lab we will set up a Pi, establish Internet connectivity, upgrade the tools, tour the features, and taste the ease of development with visual configuration tools.
This course is a must for anyone interested or involved in STEM’s, computing, IoT, electronics, security systems, home automation, robotics, teaching, automation, wearable tech, fashion tech and more.
As an outcome, students will understand much of the terminology and concepts of IoT or Cyber Physical Systems. Understanding of the hype and the high level components that make up the IoT architectures including ability to identify the different layers and the components of each layer. Completion of this course will equip you with the fundamental understandings to continue with more advanced topics and courses that are to being released.
'IOT Series' suggested pattern: Fundamentals 1 - Concepts > Tinker Lab 1 (Raspberry Pi) > Fundamentals 2 - Components > Introduction to Coding - Part 1 >Introduction to Coding - Part 2 > Tinker Lab 2 (Pi and Puck) > Controller Basics - Maker Boards > Tinker Lab 3 (Node-Red Pi) > Basic electronics > Tinker Lab 4 (Getting started with Arduino) > Intro to Javascript - Part 1 > Intro to Javascript - Part 2 > Intermediate Coding Node Part 1 js > Intermediate Coding Node Part 2 js Tinker Lab 5 (Firebase) > Cloud Platforms > Tinker Labs 6 (Cloud Functions) > Tinker Lab 7 (End-to-end IoT)
Studying on campus is a great way to enjoy the benefits of face-to-face education in a way that is far removed from a typical school. No matter which campus you choose, you know that you will be learning in an adult environment where you will be respected and nurtured. Attend a campus to learn face-to-face with a teacher in one of our learning spaces; such as a classroom, workshop, laboratory or simulated environments, or interact with teachers using real-time video or web conference tools.
