Course overview

Course overview

Explore the variety of acrylic paint, collage and mixed techniques involved in abstract painting in this workshop aimed at both beginners and experienced painters. This welcoming weekend workshop aims to inject some new skills, inspiration and energy into your creative practice. While investigating the nature of materials in a hands-on manner, you will learn to explore conceptual ideas through experimental techniques and abstract approaches. Participants will be working a larger canvas artwork and encouraged to have fun and experiment. Learn from experienced lecturer and Cairns based artist Jacqueline Scotcher whose own work investigates tropical landscapes and human connections to the natural environment.

The completion of the course will arm participants with a toolbox of techniques to incorporate into their creative practice along with a deeper understanding of the qualities and diversities of the painting medium.

This short course is non-accredited therefore is not registered with the National Training Register.
