This training equips you or your organisation with accredited training to provide your key workforce planners and managers with the ability to effectively develop any mange workforce plans including researching requirements, developing objectives and strategies, implementing initiatives and monitoring and evaluating trends.

This two day workshop will provide participants with a set of tangible skills for undertaking workforce planning across a range of Community and Health Services settings,. This course will enable the participants to:

  • Clearly identify and assess skills gaps and how to address them.
  • Assess the current and future supply and demand of employees and their roles within health care.
  • Align your team to the health organisations strategic goals.
  • Develop workforce strategies and action plans.
  • Implement initiatives to support workplace planning objectives.

Who Should Consider this Training: General Managers, Operational Managers, Executive Management, Human Resources, Organisational Development and corporate services professionals, those in the organisation that are responsible for workforce planning and development.

Selection criteria

Participants will need to be able to study at a diploma level which includes skills in complex problem solving, analysis of organisation documents and forecasting organisation's future needs. Have approved delegated access to relevant organisational workforce data and information and the ability and access to consult with a wide range of the organisation stakeholders in the creation of the workforce plan to insure that that is an organisational specific project.

Resources required

No specific resources are required to successfully complete this course.

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.
