Course overview

This unit provides training in the correct use of hydraulic test equipment such as leak testers, escape rate gauges, hand held pressure testers and other associated equipment.  The use of hand tools, power tools and specialist tools are also included.  Practical work tasks include reading and interpreting of hydraulic circuits, preventative maintenance, testing, and diagnostic fault-finding to enable adjustment, repair, replacement and overhauling of hydraulic systems. Tasks will be completed to predetermined standards of quality, safety, practice and procedures.  This course will also provide participants with the knowledge and skill to test, review and maintain hydraulic equipment on industrial worksites (plant and mobile machinery) to appropriate standards.

The Advanced Hydraulics program provides participants with the underpinning skill and knowledge to maintain and overhaul mechanical equipment and work in the hydraulic industry as a specialist fitter.
