Course overview

Progress your career in cabinet making with this apprenticeship course. Gain specialised skills in kitchen and bathroom manufacture and installation and become a trade-qualified cabinet maker. A return to growth in housing construction in the next three years means cabinet makers will be in demand with technical and design skills highly valued by employers.

In this course you will gain skills in making and repairing timber products using solid timber, flat-panel, or timber-based materials. You will learn processes from design through to production including producing manual and computer-aided drawings, using power tools and wood machines, and undertaking jobs within cost and time constraints. In addition to these foundation skills you'll also gain specialised skills and knowledge required for the manufacture and installation of kitchen and bathroom fittings.

Successful completion of this course will qualify you as a cabinet maker specialised in kitchens and bathrooms. You'll also have a solid foundation for further studies in building or construction.
