Keep your skills in low voltage rescue (LVR) up to date with this refresher course. This course is essential for those required to act as a safety observer and perform a rescue when electrical work is conducted on live (low voltage) equipment. In order to maintain currency you will be required to complete an LVR course every 12 months.
This skill set was developed by industry to provide for the mobility of electrical supply industry workers, particularly with respect to mutual aid in times of emergency. You will revisit how to undertake a risk assessment, implement control measures, access and isolate a low voltage panel, and remove a victim in contact with electrically-live equipment.
Completion of this course will keep your skills in low voltage rescue up to date and make you more mobile across the electrical supply industry.

The Electrical Safety Regulation 2013 now requires anyone acting as a safety observer for live electrical work to be competent to assist the person performing the work. You must have been assessed within the last 12 months to be competent in both rescue and resuscitation (the CPR component, UETSS00022 Refresher - Perform CPR).
Skill and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your course. You may be assessed in a number of ways while you are studying at TAFE Queensland, including observation, written assessment, questioning, portfolios, work samples, third-party feedback, and through recognition of prior learning.
