Course overview

Course overview

This course is designed for managers with experience in developing business plans and an understanding of basic planning methods, the Internet of Things, blockchain, and distributed ledger technologies. This course will equip you with the knowledge and experience required to apply blockchain frameworks to new and legacy business frameworks.

According to recent workforce data from LinkedIn, blockchain was the most in-demand hard skill of 2020 with the small supply of qualified professionals in this area currently in high demand. This course will teach you how blockchains work in practice to create user value. You'll learn how to analyse the technical and non-technical aspects and limitations of blockchain, and identify potential opportunities for disintermediation and innovation created through the application of blockchain technologies.

The course also covers how to: develop a business model that utilises blockchain to create value; develop a blockchain network functional requirements specification; create trust and activate transactions within a blockchain network; operate a blockchain network; develop a strategic network framework that facilitates blockchain interoperability; prepare the organisation for transitioning operations to a blockchain network; and develop a blockchain governance model.

Successful completion of this course will prepare you for strategic or management roles within a range of organisations who are:

  • researching and crafting new business models that incorporate blockchain technologies to create value, efficiencies and new opportunities, or
  • researching and modelling disruptive business systems around the application of blockchain and distributed ledger technologies, or
  • charged with transitioning business systems to new and emerging blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.
