Townsville Academy of Sport – Rugby League

The Townsville Academy of Sport Mendi Blackhawks Rugby League Program is a post-secondary school athlete development pathway that promotes excellence by equipping young regional rugby league players with the right tools to pursue success on and off the field. TAFE Queensland facilitates the Academy program in partnership with the Mendi Blackhawks.

Professional habits and skills are developed through a holistic, performance-based sporting program developed specifically for student athletes. The educational and physical training environment is designed to advance physical and mental threshold leading to improved performance and output.

Additional to receiving the sporting components of the Academy, student athletes will undertake a vocational or tertiary pathway suited to their career aspirations outside of the sporting arena.
