How does it work?

Learn in-demand skills

To support school leavers into work, the Queensland Government offers free TAFE training in high-priority areas. These qualifications have been selected based on skills demand and advice from industry, ensuring students develop the skills needed by employers and the Queensland economy.

Find the right qualification for you

There are dozens of qualifications to choose from across a range of study areas including child care, community services, health, hospitality, agriculture, and horticulture. Plus, you can choose the study mode that suits you with many qualifications delivered both on campus and online.

There's no time to waste

Eligible Year 12 graduates must enrol and start training in a high-priority qualification within the calendar year after leaving school to take advantage of this great opportunity.

Benefits of free TAFE training

Get qualified without the cost

If you take advantage of Free TAFE for Year 12 Graduates funding, the full cost of your training at TAFE Queensland will be covered. That means you won't have to contribute anything towards your training fees — you may still however need to pay some smaller costs such as uniforms or other resources.

Ensure your skills are in demand

The added benefit of completing a qualification in a high-priority area is that you're guaranteed to develop in-demand skills and graduate with strong job prospects. You'll stand out from the crowd and be ready to hit the ground running with the industry-relevant skills employers are looking for.
