Whether you’re a high school student or recent graduate, career changer, or wanting to re-skill or up-skill, the event will have the information and answers for everybody’s study needs.
TAFE Queensland General Manager on the Gold Coast, Karen Dickinson said the Open Day is a chance for potential students and parents to map out a pathway into a promising career.
“What better way than to start the year by taking the next step in their career to explore their options and gather all the information they need to set themselves on the path to success,” said Karen.
“Our Open Days give prospective students the chance to experience for themselves what life at TAFE Queensland is like, and allows them to check out our fantastic facilities while getting a taste of some of the courses we have on offer.”
There will be teachers and staff on hand from all course areas including animal studies, beauty, business, community services, creative, events, hairdressing and barbering, hospitality, health, IT, language and general education, nursing, travel, and trades.
Ms Dickinson said it’s also a great chance to see the amazing campus facilities and go behind the scenes with a guided tour.
“Visitors can tour the state-state-of-art nursing labs, visit the Hospitality Hub training restaurant, browse the hair and beauty salons and student study areas,” she said.
Activities will be taking place throughout the day including health check demonstrations, fitness demonstrations, interactive trade presentations and more.
Experts will also be on hand to talk about the exciting new Bachelor programs offered at the TAFE Queensland Coomera Creative campus in partnership with Southern Cross University, including The Bachelor of Contemporary Music and Bachelor of Digital Communications and Media.
Current high school students and their parents can chat to the team about the TAFE at School program which allows Year 10, 11 and 12 students to study at TAFE Queensland whilst at school.
The Open Day will be held at the Southport campus, 91-99 Scarborough Street from 12pm to 6pm.
