The awards recognise the nation’s event professionals for their achievements in Australia’s best events and event-related goods, services and innovations.
TAFE Queensland events teacher Antoinette Adams said the achievement is reflective of the exceptionally talented team of industry-current events teachers as well as TAFE Queensland’s innovative approach to education and training.
“To be nominated alongside some of the best in our industry was accolade enough. But to then go a step further and win the national award against the best in our industry from all over Australia is a fantastic achievement for our team,” Antoinette said.
The awards brought together the best of the events industry from each state to recognise the achievements of individuals and organisations and celebrate those who are at the top of their game.
The TAFE Queensland team clinched the award with their submission displaying high course-completion rates, high post-graduation employment rates, and high student-satisfaction rates.
Each of the high ratings across the three key areas reflected the teachers' commitment to quality training, teaching industry-relevant course content and providing each student with reliable educational outcomes.
“At TAFE Queensland, our people are at the heart of what we do. Our teachers come from industry and bring with them a real passion for their craft, which is imparted onto all of our students," Antoinette said.
“For our team to be recognised as the best in Australia is a testament to the effort all of them make every day to nurture our students' talents,” she said.
In 2020, TAFE Queensland celebrates 138 years of delivering quality education and training services to Queensland communities and industry partners, both locally and internationally.
“We are committed to delivering education and training services to our communities and industry partners that are high quality, practical, hands on, and industry relevant,” Antoinette said.
“We have a highly-experienced workforce dedicated to delivering best-practice and innovative training that provides real employment outcomes for our students and employers."
“Our focus has always been on our students, communities and industry partners, providing people with access to training and skills to equip them for the jobs of the future,” Antoinette said.
