Successful completion of the course will allow you to apply to the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) for a tertiary ranking and will give you the university entrance pre-requisites in English, maths, and science.

From 2020, the Overall Position (OP) for Queensland year 12 students will be replaced by the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR). This means that ATARs will be introduced for students who start Year 11 in 2019 and graduate from the end of 2020. The ATAR is used nationally for tertiary admissions and indicates a student’s position relative to other students. It will be used for tertiary admissions from 2021 for Queensland students. The Queensland Tertiary Admission Centre (QTAC) will calculate ATARs for Queensland school leavers.

Tyler Iwinski combined university thinking with hands-on learning at TAFE Queensland to forge his own path to his dream career.
“TAFE Queensland really helped me to solidify my love of fashion. The opportunities I’ve had are beyond what I ever expected and I’m really looking forward to the future.”
“Undertaking an adult tertiary preparation course at TAFE Queensland is hands down the best decision I’ve ever made … it’s changed the course of my life. I’m not ashamed to say I never ever thought I would be finishing my first semester of electrical and computer engineering at university – and I want others to know there are lots of pathways and people to get you where they want to be.”
“I chose TAFE Queensland because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do after high school and didn’t get a high enough rank to go straight to university. I want to end up studying a Bachelor of Engineering, so by working full time and studying part time TAFE Queensland is a great pathway for me.”
