North Queensland
The North Queensland region spans from Thursday Island in the North to the Whitsundays in the south, and as far west as Mount Isa. It incorporates the regional centres of Cairns, Townsville and Mackay as well as smaller rural towns including Charters Towers, Bowen, and The Gulf.
A full range of study areas areas are offered in North Queensland including automotive, beauty and hairdressing, building and construction, business, child care, community services, electrotechnology and utilities, engineering, general education and training, horticulture, hospitality and cookery, information technology, management, maritime, music, nursing and health, tourism, resources and infrastructure, sports and fitness and visual arts.
Our Atherton campus is located in the heart of the town at 1 Vernon Street. The campus offers a range of courses with flexible study options.
Our Bowen campus offers a range of practical courses catering to the local community.
Our Burdekin campus offers courses designed to meet the needs of the local community.
Our Cairns campus features student-run training facilities including a hair and beauty salon, restaurant, cafe and coffee shop.
The Charters Towers campus is located at the Dalrymple Trade Training Centre.
Our Cloncurry campus is located in the main street of the town with close access to cafes, food outlets, and other facilities.
The Great Barrier Reef International Marine College offers a comprehensive range of training qualifications and certificates for the maritime industry.
Located in the town centre, our TAFE Queensland Ingham campus offers easy access to nearby cafes, food outlets, and other facilities.
Our Innisfail campus is located at the Innisfail State College, an integrated learning facility combining a secondary school, diverse learning centre, and TAFE Queensland campus.
Our Mount Isa campus is located just off the Barkly Highway approximately five minutes east of the town centre.
Our Northern Peninsula Area campus is located in the Torres Strait Islander community of Bamaga, approximately 40 kilometres from the northern tip of the Cape York Peninsula.
Our Palm Island campus plays an important role in the local community and offers courses designed to meet the needs of the islands' residents.
The Gulf campus offers a quiet outback lifestyle and delivers carefully selected courses that meet the needs of the local community.
Thursday Island is the main island in the Torres Strait region located 40 kilometres off the northern coast of the Cape York Peninsula.
Our Townsville (Trade Training Centre Bohle) campus is a $37 million state-of-the-art facility that trains more than 2,000 apprentices annually.
Our Townsville (Pimlico) campus is located in the suburb of Pimlico, just a short 10 minute drive from the city centre.
Our Whitsundays campus is located in Cannonvale, the business precinct of the Whitsundays region.

Townsville (Trade Training Centre Bohle) - Facility Showcase
The Townsville (Trade Training Centre Bohle) offers courses in a range of traditional trade areas including automotive, construction, electrotechnology, engineering, instrumentation, plumbing, and refrigeration. It also features a range of specialised facilities including a four storey plumbing tower, fully-fitted instrumentation laboratory, and state-of-the-art thermostatic mixing values (TMV) and backflow testing laboratory.
Automotive workshop
Our automotive students are trained using the latest in simulation technology. In our custom-built automotive training workshop you will develop the skills to perform a range of servicing operations on light and heavy vehicles within a mechanical service or repair business. Our state-of-the-art motor and wiring workshops will teach you how to store and care for components, parts, tools, test equipment, and support equipment, as well as how to effectively apply and operate electrical and electronic diagnostic test equipment.
Plumbing facilities
Our plumbing facilities at the Townsville Trade Training Centre are cutting edge. Our plumbing apprentices gain hands-on experience training on our four storey plumbing tower, complete with solar deck. Our plumbing and gas laboratory provides specialised facilities for our gas fitting students where they can learn how to install gas piping systems, LPG systems, and gas pressure and control equipment. The centre also contains a state-of-the-art Thermostatic Mixing Values (TMV) and backflow testing laboratory where trade-qualified plumbers can study the basic hydraulics and mechanics relevant to water temperature control devices and their installation.
