Who is considered an elite athlete?
Whether you're currently competing at a state, national, or international level, our dedicated support services can help you achieve your goals in and out of the classroom.
You may be eligible for elite athlete support if you:
- Compete at a state, national or international level
- Are a member of a national/state training squad or institute
- Are recognised by a state or national sporting organisation
- Are contracted to a professional sporting team.

How to access support
To register for support as an elite athlete you will be asked to:
- Confirm your eligibility based on sport and competition level
- List your greatest sporting achievements over the past 18 months
- Provide coach contact information
- Upload supporting documentation (optional), such as:
- A letter from your sporting organisation confirming your elite athlete status
- A selection notice to a national/state squad
- A professional player contract or recent competition schedule
- Receive confirmation via email once your application has been reviewed and approved for Elite Athlete Support
- Contact the Senior Athlete Pathways Coordinator if you have any questions.
What support is available?
- Flexible assessment deadlines and exam scheduling
- Timetable adjustments to accommodate training or competition
- Liaison with educators to ensure course progression
- Study planning around sporting commitments.
Wellbeing and performance support
- Direct access to the Senior Athlete Pathways Coordinator
- Ongoing check-ins and tailored advice throughout your studies
- Guidance balancing sport, study and personal wellbeing.
