What it costs

As a TAFE Queensland student there are a range of concessions, loans, and scholarships you may be eligible for to assist you with the cost of your study and training.

Terms and conditions

Applying for a course does not guarantee you a place in that course. Your place is only guaranteed once you have met all eligibility requirements and you enrol into units. Enrolling means that you are committing yourself to study, and to paying the associated fees.

The tuition fees and applicable charges are required to be paid at enrolment or by scheduled instalment dates either by yourself, a nominated third party (e.g. your employer), or as identified within a contract for delivery of TAFE Queensland training.

Student fees

There are two types of student fees: tuition and service. Tuition fees are for your education and training. Service fees are for additional goods and services provided to you (e.g. replacement student ID cards).

The tuition fee for your course depends on a range of factors including:

  • the course you choose
  • the length of your course
  • whether you study full time, part time or online
  • if you apply for course credits or recognition of prior learning
  • your eligibility for subsidised training, concessions or fee exemptions

You can find the tuition fee on each individual course.

Management of outstanding fees

If you don't pay your tuition fees at enrolment or in accordance with your payment plan, you may be prevented from undertaking education and training activities and your award/results may be withheld. TAFE Queensland may refer outstanding tuition fees to an appropriate debt collection agency in cases where payment has not been received by the relevant due date, which may also result in additional costs.

If you have outstanding fees, please contact your local customer service centre to discuss your enrolment options and to organise alternative arrangements. For more information on student fees, please view the TAFE Queensland Student Fees policy.
