This course gives licensed electricians the skills to design and install grid‑connected battery storage systems to support growing demand across Australia’s renewable energy sector.

This course is designed for licensed electricians who want to become accredited designers and installers of grid-connected battery storage systems.
You'll develop the expertise to assess client needs, budgets, and site conditions to recommend optimal battery storage solutions.
Your training will cover photovoltaic systems, battery storage, energy management strategies, and hazard identification that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Guided by expert educators, you'll receive hands-on training in industry-relevant facilities, equipping you with the skills to pursue a career as an electrical supervisor or grid-connected battery storage system designer and installer.
This skill set is fully funded for Queensland residents by the TAFE Centre of Excellence Clean Energy Batteries.
Statement of Attainment
The TAFE Centre of Excellence Clean Energy Batteries, led by TAFE Queensland, is a joint initiative between the Australian and Queensland Governments to support the growth of current and emerging battery technologies through innovative education and training. The Centre is delivering a free battery training pilot program, supporting industry to complete this skill set and a suite of micro-credentials to address skill gaps, improve safety, and ensure consistent training and standards across the TAFE network.
