Course overview

Extend your drawing skills through this practical short course designed for artists who want to develop stronger technical foundations and broaden their creative practice.

In a supportive, professional studio environment, you will build on your existing drawing experience while strengthening your ability to observe, interpret and represent visual information. Through structured studio activities, guided demonstrations and practical exercises, you will explore elements and principles of design, mixed media applications, composition, gesture, texture, mark-making and the expressive qualities of different drawing media.

The course balances guided instruction with personal exploration, helping you improve accuracy, confidence and creative decision-making while encouraging experimentation and individual style. You will have opportunities to develop personal concepts, work with different materials, receive constructive feedback and refine your work through critical reflection.

Ideal for emerging, returning or practising artists, this course supports you to develop a more confident drawing language and produce more resolved drawings for personal projects, visual diaries, exhibitions and portfolio development.
