Course overview

Take this opportunity to get your hands dirty and work with a beautiful tactile medium. Learn the skills you need to transform your imaginings into 3 dimensional reality.

Over the course you will be introduced to basic and versatile hand-building skills, including pinch and coil techniques, which can be used to create a vast range of ceramic forms, from functional vessels to sculptural forms. You will also be introduced to underglazes and glazes to produce a finished project of your own direction and choice. You will be encouraged to develop your skills and push your clay forms to create unique and beautiful ceramic objects under gentle guidance and one-to-one tuition.

This course is open to all levels of skill and experience. Those new to working with clay will fall in love with with the playfulness and versatility of hand-building. Those with previous experience will have their skills expanded and their creative passion for ceramics renewed. All glazes and firings are included in the course price, clay can be purchased on campus.
