Course overview

This workshop provides a clear and practical introduction to using AI tools to support everyday workplace tasks. You will learn how to write effective prompts, generate structured outputs, summarise complex information, organise tasks and analyse data.

The workshop explores practical workplace applications such as email drafting, report writing, meeting summaries, data analysis and presentation preparation. You will also learn how to refine AI outputs, create reusable prompt templates and integrate AI into your normal workflows. The workshop also covers responsible AI use, including understanding limitations, verifying AI outputs and applying safe practices when working with organisational information. By the end of the workshop, you will have a practical understanding of how AI can support productivity and will develop a simple implementation plan for introducing AI tools into your work.  ChatGPT will be the primary AI tool used during the workshop; however, the prompting techniques and principles taught are transferable to other tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini and similar AI platforms.

The workshop focuses on practical workplace applications rather than technical AI development.
