Course overview

If you are interested in mastering Microsoft Excel for your job, at TAFE Queensland we have the course for you! Microsoft Office Excel: Advanced is designed to help you become highly skilled in Microsoft Excel 2016 at a professional level.

The instructor will demonstrate the exercises and then you will practise these new skills. The instructor will be available the whole time for support and assistance. Furthermore, you will be provided with a comprehensive manual to take home for future reference.

Microsoft Excel - 4 hours. In this session you will:

  • Learn about Microsoft Accreditation
  • Learn about creating a Pivot Table including common mistakes, creating Pivot Charts, linking charts to Microsoft Word, using Grouping, Slicers, ‘real time’ mass data analysis, adding a calculated field,
  • Learn about advanced Excel processes like accessing publicly available datasets, adding a custom list for drop-down boxes, nested IF statements, using Goal Seek and Scenario Manager, calculation with Time values, advanced custom formatting.
  • Learn about using Macros to streamline work tasks like adding Developer to the menu tab, creating and operating a macro, accessing useful macros from the Internet and applying them to your spreadsheet.

This short course is non-accredited therefore is not registered with the National Training Register.
