Please note the current courses (10971NAT Certificate IV in Justice Studies and 10972NAT Diploma of Justice Studies) are undergoing a review and expire on 30 September 2026. No new enrolments can take place in this course after this date; however, TAFE Queensland will be actively seeking to gain registration for its replacement once released on the National Register. Once registered, TAFE Queensland will be able to enrol students in the new course.
Justice Studies
Activate your career in justice and law enforcement. According to the Australian Government the number of people employed by the Police Service is expected to grow strongly over the next five years. This is a very large occupational field with around 9,000 job openings expected in the next five years.
The Certificate IV in Justice Studies will help you increase your knowledge and gain specialised skills in justice with this mid-level qualification. You can open up a wide range of exciting employment opportunities with the Police Service, or within justice-related fields such as Border Force and Corrections.
The Diploma of Justice Studies equips you with the advanced skills to work effectively within the crime and justice sector. You will develop an innovative understanding of justice-related areas including legislation and legal frameworks, social justice, crime and corrections. This course has been designed in conjunction with industry practitioners from the Queensland Police Service, The Department of Justice and Attorney General, Australian Federal Police, Queensland Corrective Services, Brisbane City Council and Australian Border Force. TAFE Queensland's teachers and guest lecturers have extensive industry experience.
