About health and science
Whether you’re just starting out, want to upskill, or are looking to make a change, follow your passion for helping others with a career in health and sciences.
At TAFE Queensland we offer practical, hands-on training that develops the skills you need to make a difference as a nurse, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health care worker, dental technician, pathology assistant, personal trainer, and more.
Our purpose-built facilities feature industry-standard equipment and the latest in technology, so you can put theory into practice straight away. Combined with experienced teachers and vocational placements, you'll graduate with skills employers want.
You define your greatness, and we’re here to help you make it happen.

The teachers knew almost every answer to every question that we had for them, and because they had been working in the industry for such a long time, they really inspired me to want to do more, and grow as well.

It is really wonderful to see the enthusiasm and passion of the students. In one recent mushroom toxicity case – two dogs being very ill – the student who worked on the case was very hands on and his support was of great value to the vet team and patient alike. The students care and concern for the wellbeing of his patients was forefront all day, and he was able to fully immerse himself in the case and learn how the teams respond to deliver the best patient care.

The best part about my job is seeing the students learn, develop their skills and their confidence to go out there into the workplace and further their careers

TAFE Queensland was fantastic because the teachers have real-world industry knowledge and great connections to the local fitness industry.

I’ve definitely gained the foundational skills I’ll need for my science career. And the facilities at TAFE Queensland are ten out of ten.

The Nursing program at Greenslopes Private Hospital has provided me with a hands-on approach to studying the Diploma of Nursing. I couldn't speak highly enough of the team of educators who are both knowledgeable and professional, and with their wonderful support have helped me on my path to achieve my goals.
I loved being able to ask my mentor for advice and help with particularly difficult cases during my practical placement. TAFE Queensland really provided us with all the opportunities to maximise our learning potential.
I’ve always been a scientist — I really enjoy what I do, and I've always enjoyed teaching people in my job. Moving to TAFE Queensland was just an opportunity for me to concentrate more on passing on all the skills I’ve learnt throughout my career, to those who are just starting their careers.
This course is at the cutting edge. I honestly think it’s going to be one of the most famous courses for dental prosthetics across Australia and the world in the next five to 10 years. We’re seeing students who are and want to come from around the world because of how progressive the course is and how innovative the technologies are that we’re using.
