TAFE Queensland, in partnership with Engineers Australia, is inviting a small number of organisations to help shape a new engineering career transition pathway to support engineers moving into future energy roles.
This initiative aligns with the Queensland Energy Roadmap and is funded by the Regional Economic Futures Fund. It aims to strengthen industry capability to deliver affordable, reliable and sustainable energy for Queensland.
Participation requires approximately three hours of involvement over four months.

- Help shape a practical engineering career transition toolkit tailored to your sector.
- Identify transferable skills that can support future energy workforce needs.
- Strengthen workforce planning through early insight into emerging roles and skills.
- Contribute to Queensland’s affordable, reliable and sustainable energy future.
What we’ll need from you
Your involvement will be structured and time‑limited, with activities scheduled as follows:
April (1 hour)
- Share up to four relevant job profiles
- Validate the initial skills analysis
May (1 hour)
- P&C and hiring manager representatives provide role requirements and insights
June (1 hour)
- Up to 10 engineers test the prototype and provide feedback

Participating organisations will benefit from:
- Clearly mapped skills transition pathways for engineers moving into priority energy‑sector roles.
- Identification of transferable skills, capability gaps and priority training needs.
- A practical toolkit to support career mobility, recruitment and workforce development decisions.
