If you know your trade inside and out and love seeing others succeed, the Industry Trainer Program is your next step. Delivered by TAFE Queensland in partnership with Manufacturing Skills Queensland (MSQ), this fully funded, Nationally Recognised Training program helps you share your knowledge to develop the framework and shape the next generation of skilled workers.
What you’ll gain
- Skills to train apprentices and new employees in the workplace.
- Train for free - thanks to MSQ funding, this nationally recognised course won’t cost you a cent.
- Learn online - flexible online delivery over six weeks—fit it around your work and life, with weekly online sessions for support.
- Nationally recognised skills - two units credits toward the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122).

You'll learn how to

You’ll complete these two accredited units:
- Make presentations (BSBCMM411)
- Provide work skill instruction (TAEDEL311)
Meet the Educator: Mr Ian Ross, TAFE Queensland Training and Assessment Educator
You're in good hands with Ian Ross as the Industry Trainer Program Educator. He has several years of experience turning practical knowledge into teachable moments.
“I teach people how to think laterally and adjust to the many different ways that people learn – how to unpack what they do on a daily basis as a professional in their industry and pass these skills on," said Mr Ross.

Building on your deep industry knowledge, this program will empower you to confidently transfer information, educate and mentor your peers, to help drive continuous improvement and succession in your workplace and area of expertise.
Eligibility
You’re eligible if you:
- Live in Queensland
- Work in the manufacturing industry
- Are not currently an apprentice or trainee
- Don’t already hold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
*These units will provide you with credit towards Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) and other qualifications that allow for selection of these units.
The Industry Training Program is delivered by TAFE Queensland and funded by Manufacturing Skills Queensland through the Annual Training Plan for manufacturers.

- Suitable for purposes including; marketing, training, and promotions
- Emphasises well-developed communication skills
- Focuses on presenting diverse concepts and ideas
- Conduct individual and small group work skill instruction

- Demonstrate work skills as a training strategy
- Assess the success of training and one’s own training performance
- Training driven by the work process and context
- Applies to a person working under supervision as a work skill instructor
