Career Tasters are for students who are ready to explore a vocational pathway and want to experience what a career in that industry is really like.
Get a taste for a future career while you’re still at school.
Delivered at TAFE Queensland campuses across the region, our Career Tasters give Year 10 students the chance to test drive different career areas, try real hands‑on skills, and explore local industries — all without committing to a specific study or career pathway.
Career Tasters are a practical way to discover what you enjoy, build confidence, and learn about the training and job opportunities available in your community.

Career Taster Construction Trades
Get hands-on experience in carpentry, finishing trades, plumbing, furnishing and cabinet making.
Day: Friday
Time: 8:30am-3pm
Date: Friday, 9 October 2026 (students will need to attend on both days Thursday, 19 November Friday, 20 November)

Career Taster Electrical Engineering
Explore electrotechnology, sustainable energy technologies, autonomous technologies, and electrical ngineering trades.
