TAFE Queensland announces new CEO appointment

TAFE Queensland has appointed interim CEO Mary Campbell as its Chief Executive Officer.

By TAFE Queensland

Prior to Mrs Campbell commencing in the role of interim Chief Executive Officer in September 2017, she was the General Manager of TAFE Queensland’s specialist trade and technical skills area SkillsTech and has held senior management positions across a number of Queensland TAFE institutes.

Mrs Campbell, who holds a Master’s Degree in Education and Learning Innovations, has spent more than 30 years in both leadership and operational roles in the VET sector.

“I am passionate about all aspects of TAFE Queensland, but most importantly about creating real outcomes for students and employers,” Mrs Campbell said.

“TAFE Queensland has a rich history of providing skills to Queenslanders and every day we strive to deliver quality, industry-relevant training that allows students to secure satisfying employment and businesses to operate productive workplaces.”

“I am so proud to be appointed as Chief Executive Officer of this great organisation and lead our 4000-strong workforce into the future.”

TAFE Queensland Board Chair Annabel Dolphin said the Board was confident Mary will continue to lead the organisation to deliver the next stage of the Board’s strategy and to deliver results for TAFE Queensland’s students, industry partners and the wider community.

“We believe that Mary, through her more than 30 years in the vocational education and training sector, is exactly what we need to ensure sustainability for TAFE Queensland,” Mrs Dolphin said.

“Among her many contributions to our organisation, Mary has been instrumental in implementing a safety framework across TAFE Queensland as we work hard to embed a ‘safety first’ culture.”

“We know that under her leadership, TAFE Queensland will continue to build on our proud 135-year legacy of delivering vocational education and training into the heart of the community.”
